DO NOT CLICK ON…
ANY attachment that is coming from anyone other than those that you KNOW and TRUST
ANY attachment that you are not expecting to receive–it’s best to verify with them through Text or Email (not by replying to that email–in case they’ve been hacked/hijacked). Verify by Texting or Sending them a new email to make sure that they did send you the attachment that you weren’t expecting. Once they let you know that they did send it–you are safe to open it.
ANY link that is coming from anyone that you don’t KNOW and TRUST that you are NOT expecting in either email or text–this includes from family, friends, and companies that you have signed up with them to receive those kinds of emails from them (like SeniorTechConnect’s Encouraging Email Service)–just in case they have been ‘hijacked’ and it’s really spam. If you’re not expecting a link from them then check with them before clicking on it.
Before you click on any link–verify where it is taking you–HOVER over the link and look to the bottom of your computer screen and you’ll see the website address that you would go to if you click on the link.
